Eternality is too long to have to pay in misery and suffering for your sins. Jesus has already paid the full and complete price for your sins on Calvary. Therefore, your eternality should be spent in splendor and wonder when you compare it to the life you have right here on Earth, regardless of how rich or exciting your life may be.
So the question is, Why would anybody trade eternal security for eternal damnation?
It makes no good sense in the scheme of things. How long could you possibly enjoy the so called “pleasures of this world” anyway? Maybe, 50 or 60 years longer, depending on your age right now. Who knows if your life will end sooner than later. Therefore, there is nothing in this life that is worth trading your eternal destination for.
Here is a relevant scripture found in Mark 8:37, Jesus asked the question:
“Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”(KJV)
Is there anything in this life worth more than your eternal health and well being? Why do I ask this question? I ask this because every person alive will live forever somewhere, either with God or away from God. Furthermore, eternality is too long to pay for your sins!
Let’s try, however, to compare eternality to time.
In time you have limitation and the end of seasons. In eternality, however, there is no need for limitations or seasons to end. Furthermore, in time, you may live to be 75, 80, 90, and very rarely 100 years of age. But in eternality, if you could measure it using the time scale, 100,000 years from now, we will just be getting started with God’s plans for the universe.
Finally, in time, through Christ, you receive mercy for your sins, in eternality there will be no more mercy for your sins. You will pay with the most brutal, horrible pain and suffering that any person could ever image.
Why let this be you?
No one except Jesus can pay for your sins for you. This Is The Good News Of The Gospel! Jesus has already paid the price for your sins and my sins that ever has to be paid! All you and I have to do, is place our faith in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. That is because He suffered and was crucified, we can be sanctified and forgiven for our sins if we simply believe that He did this for us.
Do you believe that He did this for you? If so you can ask Him to come into your life and forgive your sins then, like lightning, He will come into your heart and save and deliver you from your sins. Then, your name will be written by a Angel in Heaven in the Lambs Book of Life. The book will be open that contains all of your sins, and they will be erased as if you had never sinned before.
Warning: Don’t Get the Mindset once you are saved that you must now make yourself good enough to continue to be saved. You must open yourself in prayer to the Holy Spirit and let Him lead you into personal holiness and a continued faith in the work of the cross to keep you saved. It is a finished work.
But if you stop believing this, you are in trouble. Also, if you make up your mind that you will never forgive someone or some people then you are in danger of not being forgiven for the sins you commit after salvation. This is real talk!
Don’t let yourself fall from the grace of God that said you by trusting in your ability to obey laws and rules to save you. Consider Galatians 5:4 in the Bible which says,
“You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.”(NASB)
Remember this, that to believe you are justified by the law of Moses or any other law requires your personal effort to make it happen. This is a direct a front to the sacrifice of Jesus to justify us on the cross. It is not possible for you or I to pay for our sins. The cost really is too great.
This not to say that you are not to strive for personal holiness.
Any Christian that develops this mindset will not be lead by the spirit and soon will lose their faith in Christ’s work on the cross and will fall from grace. No, you strive to be lead by the Spirit of God to teach you and guide you into personal holiness. Then, you are assured for eternal joy and happiness as if you were already there. A-men
