“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33 KJV)
Have you ever wondered why the world is the way it is? Have you ever tried to discover why God allows what He does? Have you ever been on a quest to discover God’s ways?
I have; and I have prayed and asked God,
A few days later, without even thinking about the subject, I heard a scripture whispered in my spirit that suddenly flooded my mind with these words, “…His ways past finding out!”(Romans 11:33b)
In other words, no matter how long or how hard I search, I will never be able to discover God’s ways in totality. His know-how (knowledge) and incredible understanding are beyond the reach of human comprehension and understanding.
How, then, do we have any knowledge of God?
In His wisdom, He has provided us an eternal book that lays out His thoughts and intentions for us. God gave us His Word in a book that we call, The Holy Bible.
There in the Bible is a treasure trove of information about God. We discover, for instance, in First John chapter 4 that “God is love” and that love is the most important thing to God. Then, we are taught throughout the Bible that God is Holy and righteous. Furthermore, we can quickly find out in Genesis, the very first book of the Bible, that God is the great creator of all things and is the sustainer of life.
We, also, discover in the books of Psalms and Proverbs that God loves justice and people who always try to choose the right thing. But, on the other hand, God hates injustice and unrighteousness of any kind. He also, allows people who love to do evil to exist for a season, then there is a judgement day, a reckoning, if you will.
Yet, the question still stands, are we able to discover God’s ways?
Can we discover ALL of God’s ways? Yes, we can learn some of God’s ways, as He lays it out for us in the Bible. But, always remember, we will never, at least in this life, discover all of the reasons why God does the things that He does, or allows things to happen a certain way.
The Answer or solution is to do what the great patriarchs of the Bible did:
We may never know why God allowed certain evil to occur in our lives but one thing we can know for sure is that if we trust Him with our lives and our future and will not be sorrow in the end. A-men
