“Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
What happens to our feet, as we are walking along, and it becomes too dark for us to see our way clear?
Answer- our feet will stubble over obstacles and trip over unseen objects.
On the other hand, what happens when a light is held near our feet while walking in the dark? We are able to see clearly so that we will not stubble or fall. The Word of God is like that light held near our feet to keep us from falling in a dark world.
When we become enlightened and illuminated by the Word, we can see enough to avoid the harsh, unforgiving, obstacles of life. These obstacles will hinder our faith and progress then they will destroy our lives.
Here is another question: What happens when we are driving in the dark without headlights? We are subject to have a collision or accident. Right?
Listen and learn:
The Word of God acts as our headlights as we travel through life’s journey. It allows us to know which way to go and how to get there.
The Word of God helps us to avoid a collision course with life.
It brings clear vision for life. And ‘Where there is no vision, the people perish…’(Proverbs 29:18).
