What is the secret to success in the Christian walk? Is it evangelizing everywhere we go, spreading the good news about Jesus Christ and His redemptive blood? To some extent, but not completely. On the other hand, is the secret to a successful Christian life, praying on our knees until they wear a dent in our floor, almost like the Apostle John (The Revelator) did to his praying stone, while being exiled on the isle of Patmos?
Partially, but not completely.
The true secret to a successful Christian life or walk is doing what it takes to please God the Father; and living a Father pleasing life all the time. Jesus said it best when He said in John 8:29,
“And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.”
Then, another time, when His disciples were really concerned that Jesus had not gotten anything to eat, as found in John 4:33, Jesus explained to them saying,
“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.”
Jesus was not concerned about His own agenda, His own desires, or even His own body. Instead, He was only concerned about living a father pleasing life where the Father in Heaven’s will was His will. The Father in Heaven’s agenda was His agenda. This is what many of us, as Believers miss about Jesus when we learn about His life of Earth.
Jesus was, indeed, teaching us how to live. He was teaching us how to live the perfect life in God the Father’s will.
Why Are Believers Always Searching For the Secret to Success, When It is Right Before Us
Hundreds, maybe even thousands of books and articles have been written, songs and poems have been composed, promising to give us the secret to success. They only end up giving us a wide variety of different kinds of answers to life’s problems and life’s issues that usually are of limited value. Everything from yoga to dietary supplements; from education to to living a life of bliss; even from living a life of self-sacrifice to one of amassing a great fortune. There is almost no end to these man-made solutions to achieving success.
Well, as it so happens, Jesus knew and taught the secret all along. When we are really searching for the truth, we will find the answer in Jesus. Jesus taught that living a Father pleasing life is the Real Solution to life’s most puzzeling problems; and is the secret to lasting success and fulfilment.
Although this is how Jesus lived and this is what He taught, it still goes over most of our heads. It is as if we see what Jesus is doing, but then again, we don’t see what Jesus is really doing. It is as if we have eyes and don’t see, and ears but fail to hear, (Jeremiah 5:21). Since most of us have been guilty of this, therefore, it is high time to open our eyes and see for a change.
It is time to begin to behold our Lord as He really was, and is, and always shall be!
Yes, many in the church do talk about doing the will of God. We love talking about finding the will of God, and even living in the will of GOD! But what do we actually practice. We practice living by our own, or somebody elses will for our lives. Rarely do we take the necessary time and find out God’s will.
Ultimately, it is God’s Will that Counts!
Jesus Taught Us the Benefits of Living a Father Pleasing Life
Jesus was, in essence, saying the Father will always be with us, He won’t abandon or forget about us, He will be there to ensure that we are taking care of. He said, in so many words, we will have power that goes along with our truly righteous purpose.
We even discover from Jesus in John 5:30, that the Heavenly Father will give us words to say, guide our path, and focus our judgment in the right direction, as He said,
“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
As long as we are seeking the will of the Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord, we cannot go wrong in our Christian walk, on our Christian journey, and throughout our Christian race. We will be awarded the benefits of seeking His perfect will; no question about it!
How Often Should Believers Seek To Please GOD?
We as believers should always seek to please God in every way possible. Through the thick and through the thin, we must please God with our whole heart, mind and soul. Although times get hard, we still need to please Him. Though none go with us on this journey to do His will, still we must continue to follow Him.
We must remember, at all times, that we are on the narrow road and the narrow path. Very few people will be continuing on the narrow road. Many will start, some with good intentions, but many will falter, stumble, and ultimately fall.
Yet, through it all, others will rise up out of the ash heap of sin and get up from their fall, with the help of the Holy Spirit, and continue on the narrow journey, bound for the promise land in Glory!
This must be our main goal in life; to achieve spiritual success above any other! A-MEN
