A God-Centered Mindset

AnointingOilHighPriest1If we are to have true fellowship with God Almighty, we need to possess a God-centered mindset. We will attempt to explain, in short order, how a Believer can move from a self-centered mindset to actually have a God-centered mindset. First, we must be aware of what the scripture teaches us.

The scripture teaches us, in Philippians that the first thing we must do in order to gain a God-centered mindset, is to have a mindset like Christ had. It says in Philippians 2:5-9,

(5)”Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

(6)”Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:”

(7)”But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”

(8)”And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

(9)”Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:”

The Bible teaches here that Jesus is the ultimate example to us of a person, not just any person, mind you, but a person Who possessed a God-centered mindset, while He was living on Earth. He started out in eternity as God, the Word (John 1:1 & 14), but in order to save humanity, He humbled himself to become Mary’s baby and God’s servant, a human being.

Next, Jesus showed the ultimate courage and served God by becoming the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the whole world (John 1:29). Could it be that this is what God expects of us? Could it be that we are to act as though we are in the employ of God, and we are to be willing to do exactly what He tells us to do at any moment?

We As Believers Are On-Call For God

At a moments notice, we may be called upon to serve others and sacrifice our time and talents to obey God. If we are to have a God-centered mindset, this is what it will take. Again, at a moment’s notice, we might be instructed by God to give, sacrificially, to the poor and needy or to a truly anointed ministry work of God.

We are called to be in special service for God and when we have this type of mindset, our thinking starts becoming more God-centered and less self-centered.

Sure, we live our normal lives. We go through our days almost like anyone else would. Yet, there is a difference with us, because we start our day before God, where we say, in so many words: ‘Father God, I am at your service.’ We understand that this Earth is not our true home, we are travellers headed to our real home in Glory, where our Savior and Heavenly Father live. And where there is no need for a sun for God is the Light of this World called Heaven.

He is brighter than the noon-day sun beaming with GLORY, HONOR, and ALL POWER!

Our Motivation Is Love

We don’t only serve God out of simple obligation. Moreover, we don’t even serve God out of fear. We should be obligated to God, and we should definitely fear God. This is true; but our real motivation for being in the employ of God is Love!

Our love for God and His constant fellowship moves us to do what Jesus spoke about in John 9:4, when He said,

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”

Out of love for God, we must work for God almost like a Angel from Heaven. Jesus worked the works of God day and night, motivated by the constant nearness, presence, and love He felt from God, while He lived as a man in the world.

This fellowship that we gain as we obtain a God-centered mindset, is like being in touch with Headquarters. We might be geographically far, but we are ever spiritually near the Lord, who is in Charge. This will lead us away from a self-centered, self-love life into a life that is God-centered.

In conclusion, we must realize that it is our outlook and motivation that affects our mindset. If our outlook is one of a employee of the LORD, and our motivation is our love of GOD, then our mindset will be a God-centered mindset. We will prosper in our spirits, in our careers, and in our emotions when this happens!

Our worlds will seem to become brand new, and our hearts will fill with love and compassion for our fellowman. We will achieve the impossible with God on our side. We will see others in a different light, because we will finally see them as God sees them! Then we will truly become the Lights of the World that Breaks the darkness into!! We  finally live up to what we were created to be, whether man or woman, boy or girl, we will be the Sons of God!!          A-MEN
