All sin and evil has an expiration date. In the King James version Bible, the phrase that is periodically used, “…and it came to pass…”(Luke 2:1), usually preceding a change in events. This phrase, ‘….and it came to pass…,’ really speaks to us, in and of itself, because it says that although something comes, it will pass. In the case of our text, a decree came from the Roman Caesar, that the world should be taxed did come, but even the Roman tax eventually passed along and expired.
In Daniel 11:27, Daniel speaks of two kings eating and meeting together to take counsel with each other and were deceiving each other and plotting evil against others at the same time, but as we shall see, their evil will only go so far, and it will end on an expiration date,
“And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall beat the time appointed.”
Therefore, we must understand as active Christians, that is, Christians that seek to portray the love and holiness of Christ everywhere we go, that although we are persecuted for our witness or for just righteousness sake, our persecution will end because evil has an expiration date. In fact, this is why will must double-down with our faith, because our time is expiring on a daily basis and the time of Christ Jesus’ return is drawing ever closer.
One day, all sin and evil will expire for good, and Christ will send Satan and all his legions of fallen angels and demons into the great lake of fire, along with any human beings that refused, while they were alive on earth, to accept Christ Jesus and what He did on the cross as payment for their sins. We find in Revelation 20:20 in the King James version bible, says it this way,
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
Even the greatest villain of all times, Satan, who has been stirring up sin, rebellion, and evil against God for millenniums, has an expiration date. He has a date with the Lake of Fire to be tortured and tormented day and night forever. No evil will last forever, this is why as believers in Christ, we cannot sell-out our values, we must never, knowingly, side with evil, because all evil has an expiration date and a date with destruction.
Therefore, be encouraged with the knowledge that the day will come when all of our haters will cease from troubling and all of our trials, troubles, and tribulations will be over. They will come just to pass away. But will have come and placed our faith in Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and we will never pass away, but will live in comfort and peace with God forever and ever. A-MEN
