Sometimes God answers prayer in a supernatural and miraculous way, but many times, however, God’s answers to prayer come in such a seamless manner that it is almost undetectable. At times, God’s intervention come to us so naturally. We have to literally look back and consider the details before we finally realize that God has just answered our prayers. God gives seamless answers to prayer (seamless– meaning so smooth and continuous as if there were no breaks between the need and the answer to the need).
Consider how the Bible describes the process of having our prayers answered in I John 5:14-15 (King James Version),
(14)”And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:”
(15)”And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
These verses are speaking of a confidence that we should have that our prayers are going to:
- be heard because we are asking for things that we know are according to His will;
- and will be answered because since He hears us we will receive the petitions that we have asked for.
What Are The Promises That We Can Stand On?
Literally, when we go to God in prayer, we should Expect Him to answer our prayers when we ask for something that He has already promised us in His word. In Isaiah 53:5(d), for example, He promises that by the stripes of Jesus, “…we are healed.”(KJV) Therefore, in prayer we can ask God to heal our bodies, our minds, and our spirits because we know from His Word that it is His desire to do so.
Yet, not only does He allow us to ask for healing, but He allows us to ask for protection from our enemies. Again, in the book of Isaiah 54: 17 (a) we are promised that “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper…” (KJV). Then, in Psalms 140: 1 we are given a prayer for protection: “Deliver me, O Lord, from evil the man, preserve me from the violent man.”(KJV). We can also find promises for our provisions in Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”(KJV).
Based on these and many other promises found in the Bible (the Word Of God), we can pray with faith and confidence that our prayers shall be answered. Then, we just step back and expect for God to come through for us with seamless answers to prayer.
It is, almost like the characters in video games that are running for a target with serious conviction over large holes and cliffs, then, as soon as their feet seems to leave the ground and touch air, land mysteriously rises beneath them, laying for them a continuous platform for their pathway. For them, it is a seamless pathway to reach their goal as confident prayer is for us.
We Must Not Forget
It is good for us to look back over a period of time in our lives where we have asked for God’s help and consider how He gave that help to us. It is good for us to remember God and how He answered our prayers so seamlessly that it was as if land miraculously appeared under our feet as we ran on our pathway to reach His goal for our lives. Literally, as we look back we can see the hand of God guiding our lives especially during the times that we decided to pray His will with confidence that He has heard us.
It is easy to look back at the extraordinary times, where God gave us extraordinary and miraculous answers to prayer, but I must advise us to keep looking back. There were times when we did not know how we would make it through another day, but weeks later, months later, even years later as we look back, we can see that we still made it. God helped us one day and one step at a time, Seamlessly. A-men
