God desires your company, He wants to spend time with you. When you answer the call to spend time with God, you will not regret it. You will find yourself humbled at the level of anointing that He places on you as you wait in solemn worship and thanksgiving for His Presence. Overall, you will find that there are blessings and benefits that come with spending time with your Maker.
As you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ and the fact that you are made righteous because of what He did on the cross, the Lord is already with you. He is, actually, closer than you think. Although at times, you may not feel Him, don’t worry He has said,
“… I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”(Hebrews 13:5b,KJV)
God will not abandon you like so many people may have done in your life. He is there for you. Furthermore, He truly wants to be a “…friend that sticks closer than a brother…”(Proverbs 18:24). But this is not automatic. God desires your company but He will not violate your will. You must desire Him, as well, and wait on Him on daily basis in order have His Presence known to you.
In fact, the more you spend time with God soaking in His Presence, the more you will want to spend time in His Presence. There is such a sense of fulfillment and peace that “…passeth all understanding…”(Philippians 4:7). It will become something that you look forward to each day. Sure, there will be days where you feel unworthy and hypocritical as you sit before Him, but your failings have not taken Him by surprise. If you continue to come before Him each day with faith believing that He loves you unconditionally regardless of what you have done, then He will help you with your shortcomings.
What Blessings Will I Gain?
Besides His very Presence, peace, and anointing that you may feel burning in your heart is, you will receive:
- Confidence that you can come to Him with any problem and He will not turn you away.
- You receive clarity in your daily decisions as you take them before Him.
- Then, you will find answers to prayers come as you spend time with God.
How Much Time?
You should, in all actuality, take as much time as it takes to allow Him to move on your being. The reality in modern life, however, is that many people are too busy with jobs, family, school, or other obligations to spend hours with God on any given day. None-the-less, the very time you spend with God is the most valuable time of the day.
Can you spare 30 minutes, 15 minutes, or 5 minutes to be with God?
With God it is not so much the quantity of time but the quality of the attention and focus you use with God. Maybe, you will need some good anointed music and definitely have the Bible close by in your quiet time with God. Moreover, you can also have quiet silent time with God all throughout the day even as you are with other people. No one around you may know it but silently you might be telling God how much He means to you, or how much you love Him, or just a petition for help in an area. You can do this in a matter of seconds throughout the day.
But make it a habit to come before Him each day. He really does desire your company. A-men
