If You Want To Preach But Feel You’re Not Called, Teach Instead

As Christians we should use every opportunity to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. However, if you want to preach but feel you’re not called, teach instead.

Christ Jesus gave the church body as a whole the great commission. This commission was a general call for every disciple. Jesus, actually said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15 KJV).  Therefore, if you have a zeal for spreading the Gospel then, by all means, do so!

What Can I do As A Lay Person?

  • Teach- if you can’t be a street preacher, then become a street-teacher.
  • Evangelize- You may not be a Evangelist but you can be a witness and a testifier of the love and grace of God.
  • Aid a preacher or Evangelist in the work of evangelism.
  • If you can do nothing else, give money to aid in the cause of Christ.

Yes, there is plenty of work to reach the lost that you can do.

Why?

Jesus said, ” The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;”(Matthew 9:37 KJV)

If you have a zeal for the gospel to reach souls with the Good News, its probably because the Holy Spirit placed that zeal within you in the first place! In fact, the very fact that you are reading this post might be a confirmation of that very thing.

No, you may not be called to devote your life to the Gospel as a preacher, but you still can devote your life to Christ and the Gospel as a teacher.

Follow that zeal within! A-men
