Pray for America to be healed of the hate and division that is hurting our nation. We need God as, never before, to permeate the hardened hearts and destroy the yoke of subtle racism that has replaced overt racism in our nation.
The Trayvon Martin case has uncovered an open wound that is hurting many in our nation. It has shown a division by race. Many on one side believe that it was a simple act of self-defense. While on the other side they believe that racial profiling and harassment caused the incident that led to the tragic death of young Trayvon Martin.
I, personally, believe that since Trayvon was not committing a crime but was a young black teenager wearing a hoodie to protect his head from the rain, racial profiling had to be the only reason causing this pursuit. The the man that killed Trayvon, even stated to the dispatch, “…They always get away with it.” My question is, ‘they all get away with what?’ Walking home from the store is not a crime. And this is a big problem in America.
In America if you discriminate, or racially profile, as long as you don’t use a racial slur while you are doing it, you can get away with it. This new type of racial prejudice does not even have to be that covert anymore. Many will even rise to defend and protect behavior that was at one time considered as discriminatory. Pray for America because I don’t believe that her churches are doing anything to stem the tide of racial division.
Pastors should be preaching what Christ preached, “…to love thy neighbor as thyself.”(Mark 12:31 KJV),basically saying to treat your neighbor the way you would treat yourself. Paul, however, calls this the fulfillment of the Law. In Romans chapter 13 and verse 10 he says,
“Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” (NASB)
Many leaders in the church, in the name of their personal politics, have embraced hate.Hate can be embraced by blacks as well as whites. None-the-less, I would agree that the church should be for Life and against the mass murder of babies in the womb of their mothers. They, also, should be for the protection of life outside the womb, as well. Furthermore, I would also agree that they should be for traditional marriage, but they should not stand with people who demonize the proponents of this sin. We represent a God of grace and forgiveness.
Either We Are Teaching Love or We Are Teaching Hate With Our Silence
We must take a stand against racism in any form and by anybody. It should not matter where you came from, it should only matter to the church where you are going. I fear that if there is not a repentance of this subtle hate in America, there will not be revival that our country so desperately needs. Therefore, I am determined to pray for America and for those around the world that the love of God will prevail over hatred. A-men.
If you have been reading this and you don’t know this God of love; won’t you ask Him to come into your heart and save your soul. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Ask Him to be the Lord and guide of your life. He will; He really will if you ask in faith.
